Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and acceptance

You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform. By signing in, opening an activity, or submitting a response, you agree to these terms. Schools and coordinators may distribute access only to adults during the current pilot.

Educators must confirm adult-only distribution requirements before assigning or sharing activities. Participants confirm that they are 18 or older when they start an AI activity. An educator may also require a separate age-confirmation checkbox for a shared link or iframe.

2. Educational pilot

The Alchemy Lab provides AI-assisted language practice, feedback, and evaluation tools. Pilot features may change as we test reliability and learn from educators and participants.

3. Adult learner challenge

The adult learner challenge is free to participate in and does not require a purchase. Applying does not guarantee selection. Participation is voluntary, and a participant may stop at any time without affecting their relationship with their current school, program, teacher, or tutor.

The challenge is independent from the participant's current education provider. We will not contact that provider or share an application, recording, response, or result with it unless the participant separately asks us to do so.

4. Challenge information and consent

Challenge participants must review the Participant Information before taking part. By affirmatively consenting, a participant agrees that The Alchemy Lab may process application information, activity responses, voice recordings, AI-generated feedback, scores, and participant feedback to deliver and evaluate the challenge.

We may analyze challenge information to improve the product and describe aggregated or de-identified findings. We will not publish an identifiable quote, testimonial, recording, case study, or individual result without separate permission.

5. Responsible use

You may use the platform only for authorized educational purposes. You must not:

• Share private or single-use access links beyond their intended recipients.
• Bypass attempt limits, access controls, or other security measures.
• Interfere with the service, automate abusive requests, or probe it for vulnerabilities.
• Submit unlawful content or personal information that an activity does not require.

We may revoke links or suspend access when necessary to protect participants, schools, or the platform.

6. AI feedback and recordings

AI-generated feedback may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent. It is intended to support learning and teacher judgment, not replace qualified instruction. Schools must not use platform output as the sole basis for admissions, employment, discipline, certification, or another high-stakes decision.

Activities that use a microphone will identify the recording and AI-processing step before submission. Participants should not state sensitive personal information in a recording. The Alchemy Lab uses recordings for language analysis and feedback, not to identify participants or create voiceprints.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give The Alchemy Lab permission to process it only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service as described in the Privacy Notice. You confirm that you have the right to submit that content.

8. Platform materials

The platform, its software, design, and original materials belong to The Alchemy Lab or its licensors. These terms do not grant permission to copy, resell, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from them.

9. Availability and pilot status

We work to keep the service available and protect submitted work, but a pilot service may experience errors, interruptions, or changes. The service is provided as available, without a promise that every output or feature will be error-free.

10. Ending access and withdrawing

A school or participant may stop using the service at any time. We may end or restrict pilot access for security, abuse, legal, operational, or pilot-management reasons. Data requests remain governed by the Privacy Notice and any written agreement with the school.

A challenge participant may withdraw by emailing Luke@thealchemylab.ai. We will stop future participation and handle associated information as described in the Privacy Notice. Information already included in de-identified or aggregated findings may not be capable of being separated from those findings.

11. Contact and changes

Questions may be sent to Luke@thealchemylab.ai. We may update these terms as the pilot develops. Material changes will apply prospectively from the updated effective date.
